Okojie Wisdom, a 100- level student of the Department of Physics, University of Ibadan,  is aiming  to break Guinness World Record for the Most Lanyards Worn, IndyPress reports.

The current record was set by Salacnid Molina in Woodstock, Illinois, U.S, during the Guinness World Records Day on October 29, 2022.

In an interview with IndyPress on Monday, August 11, 2025, Wisdom Okojie shared his plan to break the record by wearing 600 lanyards.

Wisdom mentioned that breaking a Guinness World Record has been his lifelong ambition.

He stated, “While i was little, my aunty bought the 1999 Guinness Book of Records. We had it in my house. I would read through it at that time. I noticed that in the book, Nigeria was just there for having the most detainees without any proper trial in prison. That was the only reason Nigeria was in the Guinness Book of Records in 1999.”

“So, i told God that when i turned 20, i was going to break a record. No matter how small it is , i am going to try my best to break a record,” he added

Wisdom Okojie further explained that he had hoped to achieve the feat in June, but  academic demands and financial constraints caused the delay.

Regarding the logistics for the event of the record attempt, Wisdom explained that the record attempt is being sponsored by him in partnership with his faculty, Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan.

According to  Wisdom, the record attempt is set to take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan.
