The Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan, has ratified the Congress earlier proposed by the Students’ Union Executive Committee, IndyPress reports.

The Congress,  scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025, was ratified by the 12th Assembly during its third  ordinary sitting held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the SRC Chamber.

The Congress is intended to address the state of the Union, its plan, among others.

The 12th Assembly, during its sitting, mentioned that the proposal letter calling for Congress, earlier addressed to the Council by the Students’ Union Executive Committee, was not properly written.

The Council has charged the Students’ Union President, Covenant Odedele, to modify the content of the letter before the end of the ongoing sitting.

Honourable Felicia, the Deputy Speaker of the Council, attributed the failure of the last ratified Congress to a low turnout, while emphasizing the need for adequate mobilization of the students for the Congress.
