Despite Indy Hall Legislative Council’s directive prohibiting defacement, defaulters still disfigure indiscriminate areas within the hall, IndyPress can report.
The 14th Assembly had earlier warned residents against defacing the hall indiscriminately in a memorandum co-signed by the Speaker of the Council, Honorable Gbadebo David, and Clerk, Honorable Matthew, on September 17, 2025.
The Council further warned that failure to comply with the policy would attract a 1000 fine according to the hall’s constitution.
Despite the legislative policy, IndyPress observed that the hall’s public places remain defaced indiscriminately with posters of different characters, especially of those vying for student positions within the hall.
In an interview with IndyPress, the Speaker of Indy Hall 14th Assembly, Hon Gbadebo David, disclosed that the defaulters have been identified and will be sanctioned.
“It is normal for some people not to heed. The Project and Event Monitoring Committee already has the names of those people which will be presented this week at the sitting, then the Council will take necessary actions,” Honorable Gbadebo David told IndyPress.
