UI, Unilorin, Others Fail to Submit Students’ Data For Loan

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has released a list of 203 tertiary institutions that failed to upload their students’ data for the 2024/2025 student loan application exercise.

According to The Guardian report on October 11, 2025, NELFUND announced the reopening of its portal for a 48-hour window to allow non-compliant institutions to meet the requirement.

Tertiary institutions have been directed to upload their students’ information onto the Student Loan Application System (SLAS) for eligibility to apply for the Loan.

In a statement issued on Friday, October 10, 2025, the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, stated that the portal will be accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
