The Vice -Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, has stated that the concept of a shared destiny suggests interdependence, mutual respect, and shared benefits between Nigeria and China.
Professor Adebowale made this statement at the Second Ibadan Forum titled “Convergence or Divergence? Africa’s Development in an Era of Global Partnership and Shared Destiny” and co-hosted by the Department of History, University of Ibadan and the Institute of African Studies, Zhejiang Normal University, China.
Speaking at the event, he noted the University is committed to advancing intellectual collaboration between Nigeria and China through history based research and dialogue intended to shape Africa’s development agenda.
The forum brought together scholars, diplomats, and students from Nigeria and China to strengthen the educational, cultural, and developmental ties between the two countries.
It will be recalled that the Local Organising Committee of the Ibadan Forum had earlier led the Chinese delegation on a courtesy visit to the office of the Vice Chancellor.
