The Institute Français de Recherche en Afrique (IFRA‑Nigeria), in collaboration with the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) and the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA), is set to host an exhibition titled “Archives of Popular Struggle”, exploring the alternative history of Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement.
The exhibition is scheduled to open on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, by 10AM, and will run until March 9, 2026.
According to the organisers, the exhibition seeks to foreground voices, narratives, and artefacts that shaped Nigeria’s struggle for democracy, with particular attention to marginalised histories often excluded from mainstream accounts.
Historians, activists, students, and members of the public are invited to attend.
