The University of Ibadan Students’ Union has informed students of the University to hold off payment of school fees.

The release, dated Wednesday, 31st July, 2024, signed jointly by the President of the Students’ Union, Aweda Bolaji and the General Secretary, Ogundijo Japheth, follows an initial call and subsequently a petition demanding that a general meeting of students should hold in a bid to review pressing concerns within the students community.

According to the release, the Union said it is reminding students that the prior deadline set for the payment of school fees, August 4, 2024, has been postponed indefinitely.

It went further to state that “as resolved during the negotiations after the 16th and 17th of July protest, the school fee is under review and will be approved by the governing council as soon as possible.”

It also added that as soon as the process is completed, a new deadline for school fees will be announced.
