WATJCentre, IAS-UI To Host Inaugural Professorial Chats

The West African Transitional Justice Centre (WATJCentre), in conjunction with the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, will on September 5, 2024, hold the first edition of “Professorial Chats”.

The chat aims to bring together foremost academics to discuss crucial issues across several fields of study.

The Professorial Chat event will feature insights from erudite scholars, including Professor Senayon Olaoluwa, Professor of Diaspora Studies at the TETFund Centre of Excellence for Diaspora Studies, University of Ibadan; Professor Sola Olorunyomi, Professor of African Literature at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan; and Professor Folake Samuel, Professor of Community Nutrition at the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Ibadan.

The event will explore topics such as Proactive Community Nutrition as a Method of Preventive Medicine; the concept of Extalgia – which examines the experiences of those left behind in their homelands; and Wombiture, which redefines identity narratives through technology.

The event which will commence at 2:00 PM WAT (GMT +1) at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan will also be transmitted online via Zoom (Meeting ID: 944 25452398).
