The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Committee (KRIEC), has announced the results of the election conducted into various executive and legaislative offices.
The result of the election, which took place at the Junior Common Room on Tuesday, 14th December, 2021, was announced by the chairman of the Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Committee (KRIEC) in the presence of the hall management.
Uthman Adejumo, popularly known as Wemmy, emerged unopposed as the new Admistrator-General Elect with a cumulative of 219 votes out of 235 votes.
Seven positions out of the eight positions were contested unopposed. Oluwalonimi Ogungbure, a Political Science undergraduate, polled 194 votes to defeat his only opponent for the office of Secretary of State Justice Orekeyi who polled 14 votes.
Ibrahim Olaniyan emerged as the House Secretary with 227 votes, Samuel Ogunremi emerged as the Finance Commissioner with 224 votes, Samuel Alabi emerged as the Defence Commissioner with 217 votes, Waheed Akinkuade emerged as the Health Commissioner with 226 votes and Damilare Jesubiyi emerged as the Sports Commissioner with 228 votes.
For the constituency elections, Samuel Olaoye emerged in A1 constituency, David Afolabi emerged in A2 constituency, Ayokunle Ayodele emerged in A4 constituency, Michael Adeshina emerged in B1 constituency, Iyanuoluwa Egboche emerged in B2 constituency, Emmanuel Ejere emerged in B3 constituency, Favour Ejechi emerged in B4 constituency and Stephen Ajenifuja emerged in C1 constituency.
With no candidates for the positions of the Public Relations Officer and the Social and Buttery Minister, a bye-election would be conducted subsequently.
