‘Exercise Patience’ – UISU Tells Fresh Students, to Meet Management on Monday

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union, on Friday, 3rd of May, 2024, through a release titled Update on Fee Hike has called on all newly admitted students and parents ‘to halt the payment of fees and registration, in the wake of a new regime of fees recently introduced.

The Students’ Union, which had a meeting with some student leaders from across various spheres of the students’ community earlier on Thursday, May 02, 2024, had resolved to further press home its call against fee increment by drawing public attention to happenings in the University.

In response to the meeting, the Students’ Union, led by Samuel Samson Tobiloba, noted that the University management reached out to the leadership of the Union on Friday.

In response to our request, the university management reached out today. The union executives had a meeting with the students’ affairs division, and equally had conversation with some of the principal officers of the University‘ the statement reads.

During these engagements, we restated our position on the hike in fees, and requested for an extensive meeting with the university management. We will like to notify you that the management has promised to fix a meeting with the union on Monday, 6th May, 2024” the release reads.

Ahead of Monday, 6th of May, the Students’ Union has called on all stakeholders who were invited to the last stakeholders meeting to another of such scheduled to hold at the SRC Chamber, on Saturday, 4th of May, 2024.

To our esteemed freshers, we call on you to continue to exercise patience with the payment of fees, and registration while we work to resolve this’ the release concluded.
