The University of Ibadan is set to commence six-week virtual lectures for fresh undergraduate students of the 2025/2026 academic session, beginning on Monday, January 19, 2026.
The announcement was made through an internal memorandum signed by the University Registrar, G.O. Saliu, on January 15, 2026.
“I write to inform fresh undergraduate students of the University of Ibadan that virtual lectures, to kick-start the 2025/2026 academic session, will commence on Monday, January 19, 2026,” the memo read.
According to the memo, only cleared students are advised to participate in the virtual classes, while students experiencing difficulty accessing learning resources are directed to contact the Admissions Office for assistance.
The memo further informed fresh students that invitations to join a dedicated WhatsApp community would be sent to the mobile numbers provided during the admission process.
“You will receive an invitation this weekend, via the mobile number registered during the admission process, to join a WhatsApp community created for further interactions concerning the virtual lectures, which will last for six (6) weeks,” it added.
