A total of 226 undergraduate students have been asked to withdraw from the University of Ibadan over poor academic performance.
The development followed the ratification of the results of non-graduating students for the 2024/2025 academic session by the University Senate on Monday, February 23, 2026.
According to information obtained by PUNCH, the affected students cut across 100 to 500 levels.
According to the faculty breakdown, the Faculty of Science recorded the highest number with 79 students, followed by the Faculty of Technology with 45 and the Faculty of Agriculture with 35.
A total of 18 students each were withdrawn from the College of Medicine and the Faculty of Education, while 10 were from the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources.
Other affected faculties include Arts (9), Economics and Management Sciences (4), Law (3), Veterinary Medicine (2), and Environmental Design and Management (3).
Following the Senate’s approval, the affected students will no longer have access to the university portal for registration.
A similar development occurred in 2018 when 408 students were withdrawn due to poor academic performance.
