The University of Ibadan has commenced the accommodation application process for final-year students, scheduled to run from Wednesday, March 4 to March 8, 2026.

The development was disclosed in a two-page memorandum signed by the Dean of Students, Professor Demola Lewis, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

“The Accommodation Module on the UI Portal will be accessible to final-year students seeking spaces in the Halls of Residence (HoRs) as from 11:30 p.m. on 4 March 2026,” the memo reads.

The memo also stressed that only final-year students who apply for accommodation on the portal will be eligible for spaces in the halls of residence.

Recall that the university recently moved the physical accommodation process online. However, the transition has faced some challenges, prompting periodic updates.

According to the memorandum, the revised accommodation schedule is as follows: final-year students are to apply from March 4 to March 8, 2026.

Other returning students (staylites) are scheduled to commence applications from March 7 to March 11, 2026, while postgraduate students will gain access to the accommodation module at a later date to be announced.

The memo further emphasised that only finalists will be assigned accommodation within the stipulated timeframe.

“No other category of returning students will be accommodated in the Halls of Residence earlier than 8 March 2026,” it added.
