The Executive Council of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, Team Altruism, has issued a warning to student residents within the hall against the act of spreading clothes on the Maracana stands.
The warning was issued by Indy Hall Public Relations Officer, Oladapo Salvador, during a broadcast on Indy Radio on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Oladapo Salvador described the spread of clothes on the Maracana stands as inappropriate, noting that such an act would attract disciplinary sanctions.

Speaking to IndyPress, Salvador said, “It is quite an inhuman and very irresponsible act from Katangites doing this. We have a lot of lines, and we created enough spaces for spreading clothes. Anyone that has clothes found there will see his clothes thrown away, and we the hall executives won’t be responsible for it.”
“The stands are meant to be enjoyed by Katangites for watching football matches at the Maracana, and the only way it will last long is by taking care of it together,” he added.
As of the time of filling this report, many clothes still remain spread out on the stands, IndyPress observed.
