JCIN UI Holds FOPA Awards Press Conference

The Junior Chamber International Nigeria, University of Ibadan, held the “Fifteen Outstanding Persons’ Award” press conference on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the SRC Chamber.

According to the President of the club, Taiwo Olanlesi, the Junior Chamber International  Nigeria received over 2,700 responses from its call for nominees.

She mentioned that following their screenings and background checks, the nominees were reduced down to 30 across all categories.

She also explained that the nominees will be screened based on three requirements, including, an essay from the candidates stating why they deserve the award, which carries 40 percent of the screening, the candidates’ CVs review which also carries 40 percent, and the voting process which carries 20 percent of the screening. According to her, the voting process is open to both Uites and non-Uites.

The leadership of the club further disclosed that the event, tagged “Beyond Recognition: Youth Driving Social Transformation,” will be held on November 1, 2025.

The FOPA Awards recognize fifteen outstanding personalities at  the University of Ibadan.
