The Legislative Council of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan, has suspended the Administrator General of the hall, Peculiar Adedeji, for seven days over confirmed financial irregularities, administrative negligence, and defiance of constituted authority.
The seven-day suspension was adopted by the 14th Assembly during its third emergency sitting held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
According to a memorandum co-signed by the Speaker of the Council, Honorable Gbadebo David, and Clerk, Honorable Matthew Ugochukwu, the seven-day suspension commences on Thursday, October 16 till Wednesday, October 23, 2025.
The hall’s Secretary of State, Abiola Olaniyi, has been mandated to assume full responsibilities as the Administrator General of the hall till the end of the suspension.
