The Students’ Union Vice President, Boluwatife Nafisat Aboderin on Wednesday, 25th September, 2024 has said the Union has disbursed crowdfunded bursary to indigent students who could not afford the current regime of hiked fees.

Recall that Team Amelioration on September 16 took to its handles to plead for fifty million naira for a target of five hundred students who may be unable to pay their fees.

Nafisat Aboderin told IndyPress that the Union had disbursed funds to the indigent students.

“The bursary has already been paid. It has been given out,” the Students’ Union Vice President said.

When asked about the number of students who were beneficiaries of the bursary, she stated that the President of all faculties submitted the details of students in need while the Students’ Union President, Aweda Bolaji ‘took it up from there’.

“Faculty Presidents were the ones that dropped names of the students that needed it and the president took it up from there. So reach out to him for more information,” she said.

IndyPress relentless efforts to reach out to the Students’ Union President, Aweda Bolaji for more information about the process of the disbursement of the bursary has been to no avail. His line has remained inaccessible.
