Sequel to students’ clamour against the protracted unavailability of electricity at the Alexander Brown Hall of Residence, some delegated executives – the Hall Executives, the various association presidents, the Hall Assembly Speaker, the immediate past Students’ Union President, and some association majority leaders – met with the College of Medicine Management, joined by the Dean of Students.
The meeting, which held on Tuesday, 12th of November in the Johnson Board Room, was convened to find temporary solutions to what students have previously called a ‘horrible’ situation.
According to a release shared by Alexander Brown Hall leadership, the College Management “resolved to do all things possible to fill all the tanks in the hall and to ensure that water reaches all the blocks and floors as soon as possible”.
Also, the College management “resolved to generate electricity for 3 hours daily, one hour in the mornings and two hours at night”.
It also noted “that the Deans have resolved to meet with the various heads of departments to discuss possible remedial extensions to enable students who are currently in clinical postings to be able to meet up their requirements without undue retribution or Penalties.”
