Sigma Club Donates Relief Items to Jaja Clinic

The Sigma Club, University of Ibadan, on Friday, 20th December 2024 held a charity outreach, donating items to the University Health Services, UI.

As one of the university’s oldest organizations, the Sigma Club has consistently demonstrated a commitment to integrity and selflessness since its inception in 1950.

The charity event, held at Jaja clinic, had in attendance members and executives of the Sigma club, as well as members of the Students’ Union. The Director of the University Health Services, Dr. Aderonke Ajav was represented by an Assistant Director, Dr. Osege.

The Assistant Director, Dr. Osege, appreciated the club for its kind gesture, while soliciting for more of its kind in the future. Items donated include beds, waste bins and a fan.

“Healthcare is expensive and we need all the help we can get,” Dr.Osege said.

While speaking to IndyPress correspondent, the Sigma Chief, Ajibola Michael stated that charity is one of the major activities of the society. He stated that Sigma Club has been involved in charity work since inception.

“This is one of our core practices… it’s one of our ways of giving back to the society,” he said.

The previous annual charity event was hosted at the Agodi correctional centre and Mokola underbridge, providing food and clothing to underprivileged individuals.
