Defacing buildings and littering in the University of Ibadan are punishable offences, IndyPress reports.

According to the University rule, such acts have been described to constitute ‘unruly behaviour’.

A section of the Students’ Information Handbook titled, “Student General Conduct and Discipline,” spelt the sanctions that should accompany acts that indicate lack of self-restraint by members of the University community.

“Unruly behavior shall include disorderly behavior or acts of indiscipline lack of self-restraint,” the handbook reads.

The Holistic Decay

Almost all mainstay areas of the University community are currently defaced.

IndyPress observed that most of the bills and fliers were pasted in the evenings between the hours of 7pm to 6am.

The trend poses environmental threats within the University of Ibadan.

At the time of this report, there has been no official correspondence by the University administrators to check the ongoing excesses.
