The University of Ibadan’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is poised to receive new grants to support cutting-edge research.
This development, announced through the University social media handle, has been made possible through a collaborative effort between the University and Professor Bolaji Thomas, a renowned Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology, who visited the University of Ibadan.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Peter Olapegba, emphasized the University’s commitment to excellence.
“Our researchers are exceptional in their field, consistently demonstrating diligence and excellence,” the DVC stated.
Professor Olapegba acknowledged the challenges posed by limited funding but expressed pride in the University’s researchers, who remain highly cited internationally despite these constraints.
Professor Thomas, who met with the research team, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership.
The initial grant from the United States Department of Agriculture is expected to pave the way for additional funding opportunities.
The sum of the grant, as of the time of this report, is unknown.
