A student of the University of Ibadan, Ahmed Saheed Olaide, has clinched the prestigious World Veterinary Association (WVA) Global Veterinary Award, earning him international recognition as the Veterinary Student of the Year 2025.
Olaide, a former President of the Association of Veterinary Medicine Students at UI, emerged winner of the highly competitive award, which celebrates excellence and impact in veterinary medicine globally.
The announcement was made by the Executive Manager of the World Veterinary Association, Ms. Magda Lourenço, via an official email.
According to her, the award includes a cash prize and other gifts in recognition of Olaide’s outstanding contributions and leadership in the field.
He is expected to receive the award at the World Veterinary Association Congress (WVAC) 2025/AVMA Convention, scheduled to take place later this year in Washington, DC, USA.
