The Legislative Council of the Great Independence Hall Residence, University of Ibadan, has issued a fine of #1000 each  and the penalty of community service to some student residents within the hall for defacing the hall’s public spaces, IndyPress reports.

The Council issued the directive during its ordinary sitting being held at the hall’s Junior Common Room on Friday, October 10, 2025.

The student defacers have been mandated to carry out the disciplinary obligations within 48 hours.
