“The San Siro Pitch Reopening Was Delayed Due to Audit”- Indy Hall Sports Commissioner, Al-Ameen Korede Says

The Sports Commissioner of the Great Independence Hall of Residence, Al-ameen Korede, has stated that the reopening deadline for the hall’s field, San Siro, was  extended because the Hall Warden, Dr. Adejumobi, “subjected the contractor to the University Audit Team.”

Al-Ameen disclosed this in an interview with IndyPress on November 14, 2025.

Recall that on October 12, 2025, Team Altruism, the Peculiar Adedeji-led Indy Hall Executive Council, through a memorandum, had earlier informed Katangites that the hall’s field would be closed for approximately two weeks to allow for renovation.

However, the reopening of the pitch was later delayed, as efforts to finalize the renovation was being made as earlier claimed by the Administrator General of the hall, Peculiar Adedeji.

Despite the extension, IndyPress observed that the pitch was not reopened until early November without any further renovation being carried out on it.

“Yeah, we locked the field initially for two weeks. The closure date was extended due to the fact that the hall warden subjected the contractor to the university audit team, which made the renovations delayed,” Al-ameen Korede told IndyPress.

“The field was opened last week Saturday by the hall warden. As I said earlier, the field was only locked by the committee and executive for only two weeks. The extension was due to the delay in the audit,” he added.
