UI Set to Commence Cybersecurity, Data Science, Others as New Academic Programmes

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (Administration), Professor Peter Olapegba, has stated the University is set  to commence new academic programmes, adding that the institution has the required human and material resources to ensure the operation of the programmes.

Representing Professor Kayode Adebowale, the Vice- Chancellor of the University, Professor Peter Olapegba disclosed this while receiving officials of the National Universities Commission (NUC) on a resource verification visit to the University.

“The institution is not without its limitations, it has made deliberate efforts within available resources to create a conducive environment for learning,” Professor  Peter Olapegba said.

He further emphasized that the University has the required human and other resources necessary for the smooth commencement of the new programmes once approval is granted, while stressing that the University remains committed to sustaining its reputation for excellence.

Programmes under verification include Pharmacology in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Studies as well as Data Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Information Technology, all from the newly established Faculty of Computing.
