The Kegites Club of Nigeria, University of Ibadan, on Thursday, 27 November, 2025, held a press conference at the club’s shrine, situated opposite Nnamdi Azikwe Hall of Residence.
The press conference focused on unveiling the plans of the club for the upcoming Keg Week.
Speaking during the press briefing, the Chief of the Kegites Club UI, Olanshile Ogunrinu , noted that the Kegites Week would commence from November 27, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
The club’s week had already commenced with Green Capito Day on November 27, 2025.
The Career Talk and Employability Training will be held on 5th of January 2026, followed by CSR Day on January 6, 2026, which is intended to promote community service and social responsibility.
The Kegites Week schedule then lightens up with Games Day on 7th of January, 2026, before the Palm Wine Conference event which will be held on January 9, 2026.
The Kegites Week ends on 10th of January 2026 with the coronation of the 54th Chief of the Club.
In an interview with IndyPress, the Chief of Kegites Club UI, Olanshile Ogunrinu said ,”The Keg Week is an Annual event of the Kegites Club National Headquarters, University of Ibadan, where we use a whole week to showcase and celebrate African beautiful culture. The grand finale marks the coronation of our new chief and is definitely one of the biggest cultural events to look out for.”
