The Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan, is set to hold a Congress for the constitution of the Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Committee (KRIEC).

This was disclosed in a memorandum co-signed by the Indy Hall Administrator General, Peculiar Adedeji, and Secretary of state, Abiola Olaniyi.

The general meeting, according to the memo, is scheduled for 5PM on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the hall’s quadrangle.

“This is to notify and invite every Katangite to a congress. The primary reason for this Congress is the constitution of the Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Committee (KRIEC),” Team Altruism wrote.

“This is a critical step in ensuring a transparent and organized electoral process for our republic,” it added.
