Indy Hall Electoral Commission, KRIEC Lifts Electoral Ban

The Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission, the Electoral Commission of the Great Independence of Residence, UI, has lifted an electoral ban for commencement of the 2025 Indy Hall electoral process.

This was disclosed in a broadcast co-signed by the KRIEC  Chairman, Hon. Ayinde Samuel, the Secretary, Giwa-Balogun Demilade, and the Public Relations Officer, Hon. Abdulhakeem Abdurrahman, on Friday, December 5, 2025.

“It is with immense pride and unwavering commitment to the democratic ethos of our beloved Katanga Republic that the Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC’26) hereby announces the lifting of the electoral ban effective immediately,” KIREC wrote.

According to the notice by the Commission, aspirants are now permitted to commence electoral campaigns among Katangites, the student residents of the hall.

The Electoral Commission further emphasized that all campaign activities must comply strictly with the Indy Hall Constitution and the rules guiding the conduct of candidates, while warning the aspirants that any breach would attract sanctions, including possible disqualification.

“All aspirants must strictly adhere to the Katanga Republic Constitution and the comprehensive rules guiding candidate conduct, as non-adherence could lead to disqualification,” it added.

Speaking to IndyPress, the electoral Chairman, Hon. Ayinde Samuel, urged all student aspirants to uphold credibility during the electoral process.
