The Great Independence Hall Electoral Commission, Katanga Republic Independent Electoral Commission (KRIEC), on Thursday, December 17, 2025, released the result of its screening exercise, conducted for candidates contesting for executive positions in the hall alongside candidates for floor representatives.

In a document jointly signed by the Electoral Chairman, Hon. Ayinde Samuel, and the Secretary, Giwa-Balogun Demilade, the commission evaluated candidates based on strict criteria, including punctuality, dressing, knowledge of the hall, manifesto feasibility, and eloquence. While their candidacy was determined by the Electoral Commission benchmark.

“As provided in the guidelines set by KRIEC’26, screening qualification is based on 50% for Floor Representatives and 60% for Executive Positions,” KRIEC wrote.

According to the commission’s release, only twelve, out of a total of fourteen intending Executive positions, were rated qualified. For the position of floor representatives, two (2) candidates were disqualified out of eighteen (18) aspirants vying for that position across various Constituencies.

Ajibike Ayanfe Emmanuel (PRO) and Aiyemobola Paul (Secretary of State) failed to meet the 60% cutoff as laid by the commission. Adedire Adelana and Oni Pelumi Emmanuel, vying for the position of floor representatives, were disqualified after scoring below the 50% benchmark.

Aspirants for the offices of Administrator General, Secretary of State, and Public Relations Officer were subjected to additional written tasks, which contributed to their final aggregate scores.
