Obinelo Chisom Folorunsho Emerges as Indy Hall Administrator General-Elect

​Obinelo Chisom Folorunsho, a 300-level student of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan, has emerged as the Administrator General-elect of the Great Independence Hall of Residence for the 2025/2026 academic session.

​The Independence Hall general election, held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, saw Obinelo Chisom secure the position of the  hall’s Administrator General after polling 410 votes to defeat his opponent, Olaoye David who had 377 votes.

​Other candidates elected to executive positions include Najimdeen Robiu, who ran unopposed and was elected Secretary of State with 749 votes, and Lawal Azeez, who emerged as House Secretary with 736 votes.

For the position of health commissioner, Oladeji Simeon Ayomikun secured a victory with 565 votes against his opponent, Bankole Caleb who had 214 votes.

​Also, Usman Mubarak was elected Social & Buttery Commissioner with 705 votes, while George Aramide Samuel secured the position of Defense Commissioner with 703 votes.

​In the contest for the office of Finance Commissioner, Aribike Victor emerged victorious with 511 votes, defeating Matthew Ugochukwu, who received 266 votes.

The office of Sports Commissioner was won by Oyewumi Temiloluwa Adeolu, who polled 415 votes as against his opponent, Akintunde Enochstar who gathered 354 votes.

​The office of the Public Relations Officer as of the time of filling this report remains vacant.

A bye-election is scheduled to hold for the position.
