The University of Ibadan management has announced Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

This was disclosed in a notice signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr G. O. Saliu, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

“The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19, 2026 and Friday, March 20, 2026 as public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr,” the notice reads.

The notice added that staff on essential duties are to continue their responsibilities as required, while normal work will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026.
