The 15th Assembly of the Great Independence Hall Legislative Council has mandated the Executive Council to release a memo detailing the distribution of hall packages for residents.
This resolution was reached after a motion mandating the Indy Hall Executive Council, led by Chisom Obinelo, to release a memorandum latest by 9 PM regarding the distribution of the hall packages was moved by Hon. Akeredolu Taiwo at the Independence Hall Junior Common Room.
Speaking on the development, the Indy Hall Administrator General noted that both the House and the Executive Council are committed to ensuring that the merchandise reaches residents as soon as possible.
“I understand that this House as well as the current Executive Council is very keen on ensuring that this merchandise reaches the people as fast as possible,” he said.
He, however, clarified that the delay was not the fault of the current Executive Council alone.
“The fault does not belong to this Executive Council, and also the past Executive Council… the person in question was clear without a definite date being awarded to the Hall,” he stated.
The Administrator General further revealed that engagements on the matter have been ongoing since the inauguration of the Assembly.
“Myself and the House Secretary have been on this issue not just yesterday, not even last week. Since we got inaugurated, we have been speaking on how to fast-track these processes,” he added.
He also assured the House that updates would now be communicated through the Speaker to ensure members receive firsthand information on developments concerning the merchandise distribution.
“As I stated earlier, the previous Administrator General said the shirts would be given next week Monday… the books were all brought by Saturday,” he noted, adding that details of the stipulated date, time, and venue for distribution would be communicated accordingly.
Recall that concerns regarding the hall packages have been ongoing since the previous administration.
