Uthman Olawale Abdulazeez (Industry), a 400-level student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, has emerged Chairman-elect of the National Association of Nigerian Students’ Joint Campus Council, Oyo State Axis.
The election, held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Michael Adeniyi Koleosho Polytechnic (formerly known as The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki), saw his emergence as Chairman-elect.
Speaking with IndyPress, Comrade Uthman Olawale described his vision for tertiary institutions in Oyo State as one that will agitate for students’ welfare while also improving the participation of UI students in NANS.
“My vision for tertiary institutions in Oyo State is simple. As University of Ibadan students, we cannot sit back. We are the fathers of intellectual unionism. So, we cannot sit back and allow mediocrity to take over our association. Let us be part of them; let us take charge and show them what leadership is,” Uthman Olawale said.
“We will get in touch with relevant instruments of the state and agitate for better welfare for students in the state, and ensure they are given proper representation,” he added.
