The Great Independence Hall of Residence, University of Ibadan, is set to hold a congress to deliberate on issues affecting the hall.
This was disclosed in a memorandum co-signed by the Indy Hall Administrator General, Obinelo Chisom Folorunsho, and the Secretary of State, Najimdeen Robiu Ayomide, on Friday, May 8, 2026.
According to the notice, the congress is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 9, 2026, by 5 PM at the Indy Hall Quadrangle.
Residents of the hall have been urged to attend, as the congress presents an opportunity for students to make their voices heard and participate in the decision-making process.
Speaking on the purpose of the congress, Indy Hall Administrator General, Obinelo Chisom told IndyPress that the congress aims to address the state of the hall as well as other issues afffecting the hall.
“The purpose of the congress scheduled for tomorrow is to discuss the current state of the hall and other matters relating to the affairs of the hall. This is aimed at keeping residents informed and addressing important issues concerning the hall community,” he said.
