Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, commended the students for their outstanding performance.

He also received the award presented to the university by a delegation from the faculty led by the Dean, Professor A. M. Alabi.

“The students have demonstrated the value of excellence upon which the university stands. Every university management builds on the foundation laid by the founding fathers, which explains why the university is not just the first but the best in Nigeria,” he said.

He further encouraged the students to remain dedicated and sustain excellence in their academic and professional pursuits.

Professor Adebowale also commended the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management for its commitment to excellence despite being one of the younger faculties in the university, particularly praising its performance during accreditation exercises.

The Vice-Chancellor also announced a personal cash reward for the two students in recognition of their achievement, aside from the ₦500,000 cash prize already awarded to them for winning the competition.

The competition began at the regional stage, where the University of Ibadan finished second, thereby qualifying to represent the South-West region at the national level, where the institution eventually emerged overall winner.
