The University of Ibadan has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Astria Learning to expand the UI postgraduate education.
This development was disclosed by the UI Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Professor Simisola Akintola through her LinkedIn account on Monday, May 18, 2026.
“On Wednesday, 13th May 2026, the University of Ibadan officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Astria Learning, a milestone that marks a bold step in our commitment to expanding access to world-class postgraduate education across Africa,” she stated.
According to her, the partnership followed months of efforts by the university to make UI education more accessible beyond physical learning spaces.
“For months, our team in the Office of the DVC RISP has worked to bring this vision to life — a vision where the transformative power of a University of Ibadan education is no longer bounded by lecture hall walls, but extended through technology to learners wherever they are,” she added.
She further noted that Astria Learning would provide world-class infrastructure for the University of Ibadan’s online postgraduate education initiatives.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also appreciated the leadership of Astria Learning for partnering with the university while commending members of her team for their contributions to the initiative.
