The fourth edition of the Southwest Universities Handball Competition is scheduled to commence today, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the University of Ibadan.

The tournament, which begins at 10 AM will bring together university teams from across South-West geopolitical zone to compete in both male and female categories.

In the male category, Group A features FUOYE Dazzlers, Ilesa Spartans, LAUTECH Shooters, and AAUA Ball Busters, while Group B includes UI Handers, UNILAG Handballers, and LASU Shooters.

For the female category, Group A comprises UNILAG Handballers, Ilesa Elite Handlers, FUOYE Dazzlers, and BOUESTI Shooters, while Group B consists of UI Handers F, LAUTECH Shooters, and LASU Shooters.

The competition is aimed at promoting handball development and encouraging participation in the sport among universities within the region.

Recall that the University of Ibadan in 2025 hosted the third edition of the tournament and emerged champion.
