The Clash of Thoughts 2021 competition saw the University of Ibadan Debate Team defeat the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko Debate Team at the semi-finals which happened on 25th March, 2021 at Lagos State University, Ojo. The UI team, which comprised Anushiem Chidera, a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Joy Eguaoje, a student at the Faculty of Law, floor the Akungba-Akoko Team with a score of 93 points to 66.3. The semi-final win was UI’s stepping stone to the finals, where the duo emerged 7th overall with a total score of 76 points. occurred at the Clash of Thoughts debate competition held at the Lagos State University, Ojo.
Recall that Indy Press also reported that the University of Ibadan came first at the preliminaries, with a total score of 88.
The 2021 Clash of Thoughts, which was organised by the National Association of Nigerian Students, Southwest Zone, had the theme, National Unity: The Strength of the Youth and Education, and it featured sixty students from thirty universities across the Southwest.
Coming top three were Lagos State University, University of Lagos, and the Federal College of Education (UI-FCE), Abeokuta with 88.3, 84.3 and 80.3 in that order.
