By: John Dare Okafor

Mr. Obaro Clement Johnson, a team member at FarmKonnect, has said that creative people are not left out in agriculture, but are needed to tell the stories differently, to further spark the interest of individuals to go into agriculture. He said this while delivering a speech on the topic, ‘’Smart Farming Requires Smart People’’ at the University of Ibadan’s first Agropreneur Fair. The Agropreneur Fair, which was organised by the Students Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub, was held at the LPI Innovation Hub on Saturday, 21 August 2021.

Mr. Obaro Clement Johnson, the first speaker at the event, emphasised why the agriculture sector should not be left behind in technology and innovation. He further talked about modernized farming in today’s century.

During this session, the panellists discussed the importance of food security to national security, innovations in agriculture, commercialising ideas and innovation, and institutionalising them.

The Agropeneur Fair came to a close with an Idea Pitch where student participants talked about their agro-business ideas and the positive changes they would effect in the society.
