Nigerian players were in action for their teams all over the World. It was sad tales to tell for some. This is an assessment of some Super Eagles players and how they performed.
Josh Maja: The Super Eagles star just sealed a six-month loan deal from French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux to Stoke City on deadline day of the January transfer window. Maja scored on his debut for the Potters. He scored the first goal of the game in the 2-0 triumph against Wigan Athletic.
Innocent Bonke: Innocent Bonke made his first appearance for Lorient in the Ligue 1. The Super Eagles defensive midfielder just joined Les Merlus from Swedish side Malmo in January, and it was an outstanding debut for the Nigeria international. Lorient had not won a game since October last year, but on his debut for the French side, he helped them secure a long-needed victory.
Victor Osimhen: Osimhen returned to first-team action after two months out. The Nigerian star sustained a nasty facial injury in late November last year when he collided with Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar. However, the Super Eagle’s striker is back amongst the goals for the Partenopei. He nailed Napoli out with a fantastic header which gave Napoli the lead in their 2-0victory over Venezia.
Up next, the Nigerian star and his teammates face a stern test against Inter Milan.
