Indy Hall Elders’ Council, primarily comprised of finalists in the hall, has on Thursday, December 15th, 2022 donated a Generator set to the Great Independence Hall, University of Ibadan.
The donation, presented to the Executive Council was led by the immediate past Administrator-General of the hall, Mr. Olaogun Temitope, courtesy of Elders residing in the hall.
Speaking with Indy Press, Mr. Olaogun Temitope recounted that the initiative was convened in February before the protracted eight months strike.
Mr. Olaogun noted that the new Generator would afford the Hall an ample opportunity to watch movies and football matches whenever there is a power outage. Describing the level of cooperation towards the initiative as commendable, the former Administrator-General called on residents of the hall and succeeding finalists to emulate the practice.
“When we started, we gathered together to discuss and to donate something to the hall, so that others coming after can follow suit. We held an online meeting where the elders decided to pay #2000, which was added to the due. Majority paid the dues. We hope that others coming after us would do the same.”
Expressing his gratitude on behalf of residents of the hall and the Executive Council, the serving Administrator-General of the hall, Mr. Adejumo Uthman described the initiative of the finalists as thoughtful.
Warmly received, Mr. Adejumo emphasized that the combined effort of the finalists, with the provision of a standby generator, would provide a continuous flow of power supply, as it could be used over an extended period.
