The Students’ Representative Council University of Ibadan, on Saturday, 13th July, 2024, has constituted a delegation that will meet the University Management on the lingering concern about fee hike.
“The Council resolved to meet the school management for further negotiations between 15th-18th July; while it would ‘report back to the Council on the 19th July regarding the issue of the school fees before final decisions are made,” the SRC resolved.
Recall that a new regime of fees have been introduced at the University of Ibadan for both fresh and returning students, which many students have described as ‘outrageous’.
In its resolve, “members of the Executive Council of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union; Immediate past President of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union; Immediate Past General Secretary of the University of Ibadan Students Union; Immediate Past House Secretary of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union; Speaker of University of Ibadan Students’ Union Students Representative Council; Chairperson of Council of Faculty Presidents; Three Majority Leaders from the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Students Representative Council” were to meet the University management between 15th and 18th July, and report back to the Council on the 19th July before final decisions are made.
