IPTLC Inducts 58 New Members

The University of Ibadan Intellectual Property and Technology Law Club (IPTLC), on Saturday, August 10th 2024, inducted fifty eight new members into the organization.

IPTLC is a registered society at the University of Ibadan with an “aim to create intellectual property awareness across all disciplines and facilitate contributions to general and theoretical knowledge on the subject.”

Speaking at the induction programme held at SLT Faculty of the Social Sciences, UI, the President of the Club, Doyinsola Olakunle, in her address to the new entrants, emphasized on the society’s mission to create intellectual property awareness across all disciplines, as well as facilitate contributions to general and theoretical knowledge on the subject.

Intellectual Property and Technology Law Club is a student led club, and we have the aim of creating awareness on importance of intellectual property. We also engage our members on intellectual property discussions; trademark protection, patent, copyright protection and also discussion on technological law,” Doyinsola Olakunle said.

The newly inducted members from various faculties were presented certificates and introduced to the aims of the club.

Joseph Tolusegun, studying Industrial and Production Engineering, from the Faculty of Technology, one of the new inductees who spoke to IndyPress, expressed his overall feelings about his admission into the club.

“I feel nice being inducted into this club because during the admission process I made a lot of research about this club. Being a part of the club has been really nice. I have been attending the meetings even before the induction, I have learnt a lot of things and I am still looking forward to learn more,” Tolusegun said.
