The University of Ibadan Students’ Representative Council (UI’SRC) is set to hold its fifth ordinary sitting today, Saturday, January 11, 2025.
According to the House Media and Publicity Committee, the highlights of the sitting will include end-of-year reports from the executive council and various committees of the Legislative Council.
On Friday, December 6, 2024, the House approved a total sum of ₦12,682,372 for events scheduled to be held during the Students’ Union week.
Honorable Wareez Olosho presented the finance committee report, which evaluated the UI’SU budget.
The approved budget allocations include:
– Carnival and rally: ₦1,475,000
– Outreach day: ₦157,000
– Cooking competition: ₦131,500
– Health Day: ₦355,700
– Personality lecture: ₦1,647,600
– Custom Day and movie night: ₦454,750
– Trade Fair: ₦707,000
– Sports Day: ₦733,900
Other approved allocations include:
– Super Cup: ₦882,500
– Variety Night: ₦2,934,500
– Pageantry: ₦1,632,000
– Publicity: ₦705,000
– Committee members’ feeding: ₦222,000
– Banners and backdrop: ₦40,000
– Miscellaneous: ₦603,922
The fifth ordinary sitting, scheduled for January 11, is expected to evaluate the report on the UI’SU week and assess the Union’s overall performance.
