The Faculty of Science Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan, in collaboration with the SRC of Basic Medical Science Students’ Association is set to hold a legislative summit.
The legislative, themed “From Campus Leadership to National Service” will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Faculty of Science Large Lecture Theater.
According to the FASSA SRC Spokesperson, Honorable Sulaimon Oluwasegun Philipson, the event is intended to educate students and student leaders within the University of Ibadan on the workings of legislation and the dynamics of effective leadership.
Honorable Sulaimon, in an interview with IndyPress, said,”The legislative summit is a student-driven initiative organized by the Students’ Representative Council of the Faculty of Science in collaboration with BAMSSA’s SRC. It was conceived to educate students and student leaders across the University of Ibadan and beyond on the workings of legislation and the dynamics of effective leadership.”
“The first edition last year featured prominent student leaders who shared valuable insights on governance and representation. This year, the summit takes a bolder step as captured in its theme, “From Campus Leadership to National Service.” The goal is to bridge the gap between campus leadership and national impact by featuring seasoned speakers and accomplished professionals who will share their journeys, lessons and experiences.”
“Beyond its academic and leadership value, this summit stands out because it was created by students, for students. It reminds every emerging leader that leadership does not end within the walls of the university.”
“It evolves into service to society and the nation. For students with passion, vision, and drive, this summit is the perfect space to learn, connect and be inspired to lead beyond campus,” he added.
