Indy Hall Establishes Katanga Republic Independence Electoral Commission (KRIEC)

In accordance to Article 8 section 1, Sub-section A-C of Independence Hall Constitution, an Independence Electoral Commission shall be constituted consisting of 8 members; 4 members drawn from the Hall Assembly, 3 from the Congress and 1 representing the press.

Eight occupants of Indy Hall namely: Mr. Olanrewaju Lanre Olayeni, Mr. Lawal Azeez Akande, Mr. Josiah Obong Josiah, Mr. Theophilus Alawonde, Hon Caleb Ugwunwaoti, Hon Ayomide Joseph, Hon Toheeb Lamidi, and Hon Daniel were all selected as the committee members of the Katanga Republic Independence Electoral Commission on Friday, 5th  November 2021 in preparation for the forthcoming elections.

The trio of Mr. Oladimeji Lanre Olayeni, Mr. Lawal Azeez Akande, and Mr Josiah Obong Josiah emerged by voting during the Congress which was also held on Friday,5th November 2021. Mr. Theophilus Alawonde, the outgone Editor-in-chief of Indy Press Organization was also included, as a representative from the press, while Hon Ayomide Joseph, Hon Toheeb Lamidi, Hon Daniel, and Hon Caleb Ugwunwaoti who are members of the Legislative House were included in the committee based on the majority decision of the Senate Council.

Hon Caleb Ugwunwaoti emerged as the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, after an in-house vote within the members of the commission.

The eight-man committee which is saddled with the sole responsibility of directing the upcoming electoral process was legally approved, and the members took the oath during the sitting of the Legislative house which took place at the Indy Hall Secretariat at 9:00 pm on Friday, 5th November 2021.
