The newly-elected Administrator General(AG) Ogunremi Samuel and the other nine executives of Independence Hall were sworn in on Wednesday, the 26th of July.
The ceremony, which took place at the Independence Hall Junior Common Room(JCR), started around 2PM and had in attendance the Hall Master Prof. Ajayi, Hall Warden Dr. Adejumobi, and Assistant Hall Warden Dr. Olaojo. Also in attendance were the outgoing executives and former AG Olaogun Temitope(Dr. Tee).
In his handing-over speech, the outgoing AG Adejumo Uthman thanked the members of his cabinet for their work. He also urged the new excos to have a sense of responsibility and advised them to work well with the hall management for their administration to run smoothly.
“We are all Katangites, but when there are issues, they will call you before they call others for issues because you are an exco,” Wemmy said.
“You do not have to fight the hall management to achieve your targets. It’s the same way you can not fight your parents for them to give you your school fees.
“The hall management are our fathers, and they have been very helpful to me. So I urge you to keep it that way.
“People now see you as excos, so your behaviour should differ. There’s room for errors, but try to keep it minimal. The job is not easy because you will do a lot of running around.”
The Hall Warden Dr. Adejumobi, also shared his satisfaction with the outgoing administration. He admitted that he was happy with all that was achieved by the outgoing administration and hoped that there would be improvements with the new executive members.
