Great Independence Hall Legislative Council Inaugurate Committees of the House

The Great Independence Hall Legislative Council, on Saturday, the 26th of August,  inaugurated members of the Assembly who will be part of the various committees of the Hall, as provided for in the Hall’s constitution.

The sitting, which was the first plenary sitting of the current Assembly began at exactly 8pm, and had members of the legislative council, the Hall’s Executive Council members, and student observers in attendance.

The members of the Hall Assembly who will be involved in the several committees provided for in Article X, section I – VIII of the Great Independence Hall constitution are as follows;

SOCIAL AND BUTTERY COMMITTEE

1. Hon. Adedeji Gbolahan
2. Hon. Adesina Ayomide

DEFENSE AND SECURITY COMMITTEE

1. Hon. Oluwafemi Inioluwa
2. Hon. Olaoye David

HEALTH COMMITTEE
1. Oguntoye Ridwan
2. Peleyeju Abayomi

ESTATE COMMITTEE

1. Hon. Adeshina Ayomide
2. Hon. Olaoye David
3. Hon. Fagbamila Ayomide
4. The fourth person will be included after co-option and Bye-election has been conducted.

SPORTS COMMITTEE
1. Hon. Ayinde Samuel
2. Hon. Adekanbi Ezekiel

INFORMATION AND STRATEGY COMMITTEE

1. Hon. Adekanbi Ezekiel
2. Hon. Adedeji Gbolahan

AUDIT COMMITTEE

1. Chairman – Hon. Oluwafemi Inioluwa

2. Secretary – Hon. Peleyeju Abayomi

3. The third person will be included after co-option and Bye-election has been conducted.

FINANCE AND BUDGETING COMMITTEE

1. Chairman – Hon Ogunmefun Samuel

2. Secretary – Hon. Ayinde Samuel

3. The third person will be included after co-option and Bye-election has been conducted.

DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

1. Chairman – Hon. Oguntoye Ridwan

2. Secretary – Hon. Fagbamila Ayomide

3. Hon. Ogunmefun Samuel

4. Two other members will be included after co-option and Bye-election has been conducted.

After their inauguration, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olaoye Samuel charged honorable members across the committees to be responsive and committed as residents in the hall have entrusted diligence in them.

“As Honourable members, objectivity and transparency should always be our watchword. We should always set aside our prejudice, partial affection, and private interest and work in the interest of the Assembly and katangites as a whole.”
