UI Commissions Bus Stop, Calls For Proper Usage

 The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, on Monday, 18th March, 2024, has commissioned the newly built bus stop located behind Abdulsalami Abubakar Post-graduate Hostel.

 

The bus stop was erected to be helpful to the residents of Obafemi Awolowo Hall, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and other private-public-partnerships hostels within the vicinity. 

 

The ceremony which commenced with an appreciation address from the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Keye Abiona, and the Registrar representative, Mr. Popoola, was followed by a speech and official commissioning by the Vice-chancellor.

 

The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the Bovas Group, who provided funding for the bus stop construction. 

 

Professor Kayode Adebowale noted that the group’s contributions has been an influence to the University Management’s choice, naming architect Samson as a UI @ 75 Anniversary Ambassador Extraordinaire.

 

Bovas Group at the commissioning was represented by its General Manager, Mr Abayomi Bello, who encouraged the maintenance and the proper use of the newly built bus stop.

 

“For Bovas and Company Limited, this is one of the numerous works we have done in UI and some other institutions as well” Mr. Abayomi said.

In attendance at the commissioning were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Professor Baiyeroju Aderonke; the Dean of Students, Professor Keye Abiona; representative of the University Registrar, Prof Olu Olajide; amongst others.
