The 11th Assembly, Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan, on Friday, 9th August, 2024, through a letter directed to the Students’ Union President, Aweda Bolaji, has requested for an update with regards to the delayed call for a Congress of students, as well as the lingering issue of fee hike.
A copy of the letter obtained by IndyPress, titled “Request For Update Concerning The Call For Congress And Issue Of School Fees Increment“, was signed by the Speaker of the Students’ Representative Council, Rt. Hon. Opegbemi Mathias Busoye and the Clerk, Honorable Shoge Quadri.
“The Students’ Representative Council requests an update regarding the call for Congress, which was validated by the signatures of 250 members of the students community,” the letter reads.
“Additionally, the Council requires a briefing on the current status of the Union’s efforts to address the issue of school fees increment and the state of the Union,” the letter reads further.
The Assembly fixed 12 noon on Monday, 12th August 2024, as the deadline for the Union President response to the Council’s request.
